“Canada's Only Border City!”
Located at City Hall on the intersection of Hwy. 16 & 17. Lloydminster, Canada's Only Border City--is home to the world's largest border markers! To signify the provincial boundary and 4th meridian which marks the border, these four, 100ft. high giant survey markers were erected. All shaped like the survey stakes used during the original survey of the border between Alberta & Saskatchewan. They also represent four themes: Oil & Gas, the Barr Colonists, Agriculture and Native North Americans. The gap between the steel pillars of each monument represents the actual border.
Very cool to see, and a great part of a town with lots of history :)
