“the only hotel on one of the 1000 islands”
Hill Island Lodge is the only resort on one of the 1000 Islands. The Lodge is situated on 10 acres of rugged timbered topography, typical of the Islands. Located on Hill Island, one of the famous 1000 Islands, the property abuts 1000 acres of St. Lawrence Islands National Park, a tranquil and secluded corner of the 1000 Islands. Walking distance to Skydeck Tower, and Ivy Lea Bridge, that will show you the best of what the area has to offer. We Specialize in group tours, conferences, reunions, lunches, weddings and great family getaways. We will customize your vacation package as you please. Remember we are there to make you feel right at home. Come and enjoy what the 1000 Islands has to offer. The 1000 Islands is a sightseer’s paradise and a popular destination for those looking for an authentic outdoor vacation. Located along the peaceful border between Northern New York State (United States) and Southeastern Ontario (Canada) the 1000 Islands is a region of endless shorelines, rich history and unique culture. Vacationers have been coming to the 1000 Islands for more than 150 years to enjoy its breathtaking beauty. Waters that were once patrolled by pirates (yes…pirates!) and Prohibition bootleggers are now cruised by cottagers who enjoy serene bays and vacationers who tour aboard guided trips and hear the astonishing stories behind the islands. Lighthouses, historic castles, maritime museums, world-class fishing and diving, quaint downtown shopping, on-the-water dining, family amusements and more make the 1000 Islands a destination that visitors come to again and again. Although famously known as the 1000 Islands, the archipelago that spans from Lake Ontario to the St. Lawrence River actually comprises nearly 2,000 isles that are home to historical lighthouses, castles, and the Hill Island Lodge. Set on 10 wooded acres, the resort is conveniently situated for hiking in the adjacent St. Lawrence Islands National Park, fishing the St. Lawrence River, or strolling to nearby attractions such as the Skydeck Tower, where visitors can take in views of the surrounding islands from 130 metres in the air. The on-site dining room offers guests the chance to catch a sporting event or sip a cocktail on the outdoor patio, and in the morning, a continental breakfast of bagels, toast, cereal, and orange juice provides ample fuel for exploring Hill Island. Once rested and full, guests can take a refreshing dip the outdoor pool or, with the optional 2.5-hour cruise, tour the surrounding waters, passing local landmarks including the sprawling Boldt castle and several elegant mansions with diamond-encrusted welcome mats along Millionaire's Row.
