“Preserving Canada's Heritage”
Steam Back Into History aboard one of the Kamloops Heritage Railway's Railtours and Special Events Trains. At the heart of the railway is the KHR 2141 steam locomotive 'Spirit of Kamloops'. Lovingly restored over an 8-year period (1993 - 2001) by a group of dedicated volunteers, the 2141 was brought back to life after sitting in a city park for over 33 years. On June 15th, 2002, she carried her first passengers on a short one hour trip to the CN junction and back signalling the start-up of a premier tourism attraction in the region.
"Operations cancelled for summer 2014. Repairs now 'on-track', and we plan on being operational for 2015"
From their website:
"The Kamloops Heritage Railway Park is closed until further notice as we work with the City of Kamloops to address land use zoning issues."
