“This creepy station is home to some spooky sightings..”
This place is on private property. Listing for informational purposes only. Please do not visit without express permission from the land owner. The RCAF Station Beaverbank was originally a long-range Pinetree Line early warning radar station operated by the Royal Canadian Air Force in central Nova Scotia near the community of Beaverbank. In the mid 70s the base was converted to a concrete plant. This was only used for a few years before the base was abandoned then resold. The base headquarters were turned into a nursing home called Beaverbank Villa. The retirement home still stands, though the site was abandoned and the other buildings demolished in 2004. Today, the base is an abandoned shell of its former self, but according to paranormal researchers, not all of the base workers moved on. As the legend goes, during the construction of the radar towers, one worker was electrocuted to death and two others were killed while they were pouring the concrete. Years later, a worker was crushed to death by a precast concrete wall. The early 70's also saw a murder at the Villa. Now, visitors to the site report coming face to face with ghostly spirits inside of the building and out. One particular room, known as the "red room" has gained particular notoriety for glowing a bright green at night, the source of which is unknown.
Amazingly spooky place! A must see for road trippers in the Maritimes who are into paranormal investigating and exploring. My only complaint is that it is rather difficult to get inside, a bit of climbing is involved, other than that I would highly recommend checking this place out!
Don’t recommend visiting now, as the owner of property has apparently set traps attempting to hurt people. This includes wire traps at head level, which would be deadly at a high speed.
People that used to live in the villa when it was housing and they say that not animals will enter the building including insects.
