Not much has changed since last year. Access to the park is easy from the Trans Canada Highway. Parameter roads are gravel, wide and Big Rig Friendly. Check in is the same (self registration). We stayed in the lower loop this time. It is forested and the sites are spaced nicely but they are un-serviced. There was a black bear that wandered through the park quite regularly. We were told the leave it alone and just watch our dog and it would leave us alone. It had not tasted human food so the Ranger felt it would move on in a short time. There is no longer a maximum stay at this park but we could not tell if there were any long termers. We paid $26.00 night and feel we received good value. We will return.

Found This On Campendium App On The Way Through The Mountains to Calgary after finding all sites around Banff and Canmore were full - Was A Friday Night of A Long Weekend And I Didn’t Plan Ahead - Was Told “we’re Full But we’ll Find Space For You To Stay” 👍. Very Friendly Couple Running The Site - We Were Provided a No Power site With A Fire pit - Was 31 Bucks And I Was Good With That - Would Consider Proper Planning In The Future And Book A Proper Full Service Site For Sure - close to the HWY and a little noisy but ok in my books
Thanks Willow Rock 😀

We arrived on a Wednesday in mid June. Its was pretty empty we chose site 58 for our 42ft fifth wheel. It was great for solar and our starlink. We had plenty of privacy, no neighbors and awesome views.
You can hear road noise but personally didn’t really bother me I’m used to it.
The electric sites are packed in so tight and right at the entrance. Happy we have solar and didn’t have to park down there.
The wooded loop by the river is awesome for smaller trailers I’d say 25ft and under. Could fit maybe 30 but there’s a bunch of overgrowth and trees. But a lot of privacy for vans, truck campers and tent people.
Overall I give 4 star, no real complaints they have potable water and sewer dump. $22.75 USD per day.
Just wish it was a little closer to Canmore.
