“situated on the most southerly fjord in North America”

Situated on the most southerly fjord in North America, the park features waterfront campsites with a view over Howe Sound to the mountains beyond. An old ship has been sunk to provide interest for Scuba divers and to attract marine life. There are special facilities for divers. Adjacent train tracks are active and occasional noise disturbance may occur. Leave No Trace: Exploring the rocky beach at Porteau Cove can be an exciting and rewarding experience, but fishing, shellfish harvesting or removal of other marine life is not allowed. Please minimize your disturbance by leaving everything as you find it. Stay Safe: Tide, wind and weather conditions can change suddenly in Howe Sound. Use caution while swimming and boating in this area. Please ensure children are supervised while on the emergency ferry pier. Scuba divers are not permitted to use the boat launch. The BC Rail train track skirts the boundary of the park. Entering the park requires crossing the train track. This is a controlled train crossing, use caution and obey all signs. Public Pay Phones The public pay phones are no longer available. They have been removed during the adjacent highway construction and there is no information available as to when this service will be reinstated.

Super popular campground right on the water. Not big rig friendly. Very tight roads and turns. I have a 34ft class A and I barely got through.
The sites have electric only (30amp) and water onsite to fill your tanks. There's also a convenient dump station which charges $5 Canadian to dump.

The sites in the loop are less private. The sites on the road towards the walk in campground are larger and private.
The rangers here are on some kind of crazy power trip. It was like a bunch of Barney Fifes running around and that was a little of a downer.
T mobile and ATT both had strong signals. Data speeds in Canada seem way better than the states. I was getting 40mbps d/l without a booster.
Only 1 OTA channel.

There's a train that runs right through the campground and unless you sleep like the dead it will wake you up at 2am every night and it's starteling.

Super clean, well maintained provincial park. The coastal mountains are amazing, the Howe sound is loaded with beauty. Sea lions put on quite a show. Yes there is a train that goes through every nite at 2 am and yes it was loud but it is here and gone in 30 seconds. Bathrooms are big clean and have very nice showers which are free. The campground sells firewood, exchanges 20# propane and has various other snacks and small items. People are very friendly. Reserve early or you will risk not getting in. Sites on the water are amazing if you can get them!!

We made amazing meals .. breakfast sandwich “scrambled eggs, spicy sausage and bacon” over a toasted bun with sprinkled cheese.

Lunch ... chilli & hotdogs with all the top on a fresh bun.

Dinner .... Italian pot roast in instant pot.

Sunday ... packup day breakfast frittata...with Saturday breakfast meat leftovers...cook onion in cast iron pan over fire throw in meat a dozen eggs with graded cheese then in the oven at 350 for 30 minutes!
