We had a long travel day planning to stay here but it’s closed due to bear activity. Huge bummer. No idea when they’ll reopen so I’m posting just so anyone planning to go there soon is prepared with an alternative. There is not a lot available after but there’s a nice rest stop nearby.

Nice park. Beautiful. Sites are big enough for our 18ft truck and 30ft TT. Electric only.
Of course, yet another incident with an off leash dog. Folks, follow the rules. Checking out the campsite before backing in, neighbors dog ran over to me and started growling. Really?
All in all, well worth the stop.

Provincial park with some 30amp hookup.
Also has pay for data WiFi. $7.00 per day. Works great. Didn’t fish but heard it was good. Great location to see; Stewart, Bear Glacier,Salmon Glacier and grizzly bears at fish creek. Several sites with electric right on the lake. Bought WiFi and used WiFi base cellular since had no cell service.

Lovely, well developed campground with a variety of sites ranging from lakefront at water level, to smaller, higher elevation sites with water views. Electric sites were $27, non-electric $22. There is a tight ring of electric sites right on the water in an open gravel area plus more spacious waterfront sites along the road but they were all taken when we arrived! Overflow grassy area perfect for a group of motorcycles with tents.

Pit toilets, garbage and recycling, a water spigot where you could fill your tank. No dump station which is surprising for how large and developed this campground is. The private dump at the junction is $10 and inconvenient but there are free dumps in Terrace BC to the south and Watson Lake YT to the north.

WIFI is pay and it worked okay. No cell service in the campground but Bell Canada worked in Hyder BC so you can get signal there.

We stopped here after several days heading down the Cassiar Highway. This is a nice, well taken care of campground. Once you find your spot, and make sure that it doesn't have a reserved sign on it, eventually a camp host will come around to take payment. Many of the spots are near the lake, and they shut down the upper loop early in the season after visitor rates drop down. Although larger rigs can find spots, many of the spots are better off for smaller rigs, and some areas you may be a little closer to your neighbor then you would find at other Provincial Campgrounds. There is no cell service here, but you can purchase Wi-Fi for a few bucks which worked good enough for us.

We stayed here in late August while visiting Stewart/Hyder. When we arrived in late afternoon, it looked like the only available sites were on the upper levels (which filled up later in the evening). We chose one on the middle level which had a bit more space and privacy (bushes on one side)than the ones at the very top. We realized afterwards, that if there was a white/green sign on the reserved site it meant that it was open for one or two nights - it was only the red signs that were reserved for that night. Our site was unserviced (campground has some electrical sites) but had good sun for our solar. Generator hours are the same as other BC parks - 9-11 am and 6-8 pm.
Although the views of the lake were nice, i found the campground had a bit of a parking lot vibe to it. The sites are pretty close together with not a lot of buffer greenery in between. The closeness coupled with the lake effect meant that there was a lot of background noise from other campers.
We had been without internet for awhile so we paid extra for the Internet service. It did not work very well - our connection was dropped and when we tried to access it again we were unable to.
It was a good location to visit Stewart from and a good overnight stop.

We got there the day after they opened so only a few sites were occupied and there was still snow on the ground. We picked level gravel site 53 on the circle with waterfront. Electric only. No phone, internet or anything (just like most of the area). The guys checking us in where very nice and helpful. Such a beautiful park.
The cons: our 30 amp kept tripping so we finally just plugged into the next site and we bought firewood for $10 CAD and got 10 little pcs of wet wood but we had a fire on the lake with neighbors for a nice evening.

Lots of nice sites with Lake views. Limited privacy as sites are close. Camp hosts are personable and attentive. Pit toilets are clean. Potable water is available to fill RV tank. Firewood $10.

Just off the Cassiar Highway, level gravel sites. Just big enough for our 32’ fifth wheel. There were some bigger rigs, but they were a tight fit. 30 amp electric only, no dump site, no water at site. Sites 50-58 are on a circle where every one backs in right up to the lake. If there are a bunch of big rigs it could be a little tight. Open for starlink, no cell service. Great day trips to Stewart/Hyder and the glaciers.
