Ratings Summary
Pretty campground on Kootenay Lake. Very popular with families. We were there over Labor Day weekend and lots of families with the kiddos out enjoying life. Right on the lake so lots of swimming, paddle boards, kayaking and other water activities. Even a dog beach for the furry four legged to enjoy. A couple of playground areas to for the little ones. Nice open areas for frisbee and playing catch. There are only a few electric sites and we had one of those with a very nice “front yard”. The sani dump station costs $5 loonies and that is also where you fill your tanks with water. We were so lucky to see the Kokanee Salmon spawning during our visit. Quite a sight to see. The city of Nelson is about 10 miles away with several restaurants and a couple craft breweries. Safeway in town for any groceries you might need. Ver nice visitor center in the park. Gifts, souvenirs and small coffee shop. We really enjoyed our time here. Att/Rogers cell was only 1 bar 3g and not very useable even boosted.
