“Kampgrounds of America”
The mountains make the magic at the Revelstoke KOA. They're the glorious backdrop for the campground's 40 acres of trees, flowers, quiet walkways and grassy sites. The large pool (55' x 36'), two playgrounds, basketball and other pleasures keep folks busy. An Aquatic Centre pass is available when the pool is not in operation. Enjoy the free wireless Internet station around the office (there is a charge at sites), cable TV, an activity area, a duck pond and a meeting hall. Mount Revelstoke and Glacier national parks are the main draws, and your hosts can set you up with maps and outfitters for a variety of activities. Walking trails are close by, as well as golfing. This KOA is just off the Trans-Canada Highway and minutes from town, with several charming restored Victorian buildings. Nearby activities include whitewater rafting, hiking, fishing, ATV tours, Revelstoke Dam, Grizzly Plaza (live music), hot springs and more! Log chalets (with air-conditioning and TV) are available all year!

There is pavement all the way to the park. Signage is adequate. Check in was efficient and friendly. The rules are fairly basic. The interior roads are. Graveled and in good condition. This was once a KOA and is now undergoing a remake. The old pool has been demolished and a new one to be constructed soon. The new owners are undertaking a huge remake so we have allowed a lot of latitude rating this park. In time, I’m sure it will be a diamond. If a quieter park is your goal, you will be happy to hear that it is a good distance farther away from the main line of the railway. One can still hear the trains but it is nowhere near as loud as it is at the Lamplighter where the ground shakes when they pass..
Our site, 44, was a pull through that was just long enough for our Coach and Towed. Services (30 amp only) was to the left side. Distancing is a bit close for a rural park but far more spacious than at the Lamplighter. Some sites had a vegetation privacy barrier. Each site has a table and a fire pit. Our site was flat and even but lacking in gravel. Most other sites did not have any bare dirt showing. Ours did.. Overall the park was well laid out. Re-landscaping is in progress. Even now, there is plenty of green as the park has been built in a forest.
The park included wifi is very weak and our 5G hotspot only ever achieved 2 bars but mostly only 1. There is no cable TV nor could we find any OTA channels. Satellite might be difficult. We did not use the washrooms, showers or the laundromat but we checked and found them clean and modern. There are a number of amenities that we did not partake it such as movies etc.
There are no restaurants or stores within easy walking distance but just a short drive away you can find food, shopping and convenience stores. We found this park to be an okay overnighter. We paid $48.56 per night (inc tax and booking fee) and we feel we received fair value. We will be back if in the area again.

It was going to be hot and we wanted to run the AC, so we grabbed a few nights here. I would stay again in similar circumstances, but I would rather stay at the Provincial Parks in the area if the weather is nice.
Pros:
Good location
Full hookups
A quick walk to Mt Begbie Brewery
Cons:
Takes a while to drive to your site
Very dusty. Fine talcum powder dust. It got everywhere.
Sites aren’t super level

If you are a family with young children, Revelstoke Campground is a pretty good choice. There is a lot for kids to do: pool, play area, nightly outdoor movie, ducks to feed, nightly ice cream social etc. Facilities were very adequate though needed more frequent cleaning: showers, laundry, restrooms. (Note: it wasn’t filthy but dirt starts to pile up). Wifi is available only near the office but it’s a good signal. Our spot was in the lower lot - not very level. The lower lot does require you to walk up to all the facilities - as a hiker it didn’t bother me but a few people complained (it is dirt and uphill). Price was Canadian dollars. With so many kids, we would not stay again due to noisiness unless we brought our kids.

We booked at Revelstoke Campground because we were visiting the area during peak season and booked last minute. When researching, we weren't able to find many first-come-first-serve campgrounds in the area and quickly found all the other RV parks were booked up.
The only thing appealing to us about Revelstoke Campground was the location. It was only a few miles from downtown and a close drive to Revelstoke Park (and also drive-able to Glacier).
We camped in the lower loop which meant a short drive down a bumpy gravel road. The lower loop doesn't have bathrooms/showers which means a very long walk up to the upper loop campsites (through a dirt path in the woods). I'm guessing you could drive, but they also don't have any parking spots at the bathroom facilities. We felt that this was a little ridiculous, especially considering the high price tag of this place. The bathrooms were always full of mud/just plain dirty.
The daily rate listed amount is Canadian dollars (with GST the total was $297.44 for 6 nights).
Our site was full-hook-up and had a picnic table. It was dirt/gravel and un-level. Most of the tent sites were just a patch of grass right on the side of the road.
The campground does have a pool. We found it was constantly packed with kids so we didn't use it. There is laundry facilities in the upper campground, but it isn't cheap. $3 wash, $3 dry (and only a couple machines that are always full).
We did have signal on ATT but sometimes had bandwidth issues when everyone else was online. The only WiFi offered by the campground requires you to be a few feet away from the store/office. It is not accessible at the sites.
Overall, we were happy to have a place to stay, but were not impressed with the facilities. However, we do not have children and do not like the KOA style resorts. If you have kiddos, you might like this place (pool, free movie nights, feed the ducks, playground, etc).
We would recommend The Village Idiot in town if you are looking to grab a beer/pizza. There is also a brewery just a few miles down the road from the campground.

We camped here on the Monday of Labour Day weekend. We had spent the day hiking at Revelstoke and were heading to Glacier the next day so it was in a good spot. Plus, it was walking distance to Mt Begbie Brewery which unfortunately ended up being closed for the holiday.
The campground didn’t appear on the RV app on our GPS but was very well signed. The road in was good and it was easy to access our site which was grassy, wide and level. The park wasn’t very full which was nice as there is not a lot of buffer between sites - lots of trees but the sites are very open. The campground is recognizable as an old KOA.
Unfortunately, the Wi-fi did not reach to our site and we only had between 1-3 bars with Rogers. We encountered a rule that was new to us - no BBQ’s on the picnic tables - fortunately we carry a small table with us.
I used the laundry which was across from us (not the main one) and it was fine. There was some noise from the highway

Stayed there for one night. Campground is clean and organized, but we cannot recommend it. The fee for an unserviced site is CAN $ 39 plus taxes, which is relatively expensive. But on top of it, they charged us a CAN $ 7.50 booking fee even though we did not pre-book. This hidden feed is a rip-off. Together it is an extremely expensive unserviced campsite for one night. We did contact their head office afterwards to complain and they refunded the booking fee. Watch out for this hidden fee that they try to add. The Wifi is very bad and only works if you are very close (most likely standing) just outside their office building - good Wifi should be a given at the high prices they charge. There is no sani-station (but they tell customers to use the one in town). The pool was already closed, but we still had to pay the full rate. We will not stay there again on future trips.
