This was the only campground we could get a reservation for near the mountains and we were not disappointed. Just in the edge of Kananaskis country, it’s about a 15 minute drive to the nearest attractions -Barrier Lake, and lots of pretty hikes and stops along the #40 highway. Only 40 mins to Canmore and 1hour to Banff. No cell service. Campground is forested and sites are large and spread out so most are pretty private if you park your camper across the front. Lots are pull-through sites. Vault toilets are clean and not too smelly even at 30C degrees. Two hand pumps for non-potable water. Lake is just a weedy but pretty pond, not suitable for dogs or people to swim in. Gorgeous hike -Ole Buck Trail, is right off the C loop. Campground was almost empty during the week, got busier during the weekend but still lots of empty spots even though it said it was fully booked. Really pretty and relaxing place for a base camp to tour the surrounding area and to just enjoy the area. Would definitely go again. Showers are available at Mt.Kidd RV Park about 25 mins away for $2/5mins.
