Coastal Byway

“drive along New Hampshire's only coastline”

This byway is unique because it runs along New Hampshire's only coastline. It consequently escorts you through brilliant panoramas of the Atlantic Ocean and its sandy beaches. It also showcases dozens of fascinating historic sites and scenic areas. For example, Portsmouth's greatness as one of the nation's first grand port cities is illustrated in its exceptional late 18th/early 19th-century architecture.

The foremost landmark of the community is the historic Wentworth-By-the-Sea Hotel, which housed both delegations during the signing of the Russo-Japanese Peace Treaty at Portsmouth Naval Shipyard in 1905.

Hampton Beach is the most popular seasonal resort community in the region. During the summer months, visitors flock to this area to enjoy sandy beaches, cultural events, and lively entertainment.

Very pretty, but be aware that it is much slower as you drive along basically a very crowded/busy tourist-ey boardwalk with beach-goers jam-packed and not paying attention.
