Rottnest Island Authority

Please note that this property is not located on the mainland. You need to take a ferry to Rottnest Island. Your ferry journey must be organised separately. Vehicles are not permitted on Rottnest Island. Bicycles are the main form of transport and are available to hire on the Island. Short-term and long-term car parking options are available at the ferry terminals. Guests must check in at the Visitor Centre which is located at the end of the Main Jetty in Thomson Bay. This is the check-in point for the Rottnest Island Authority accommodation. A welcome pack will be sent to visitors 2 weeks prior to their stay, providing all the details needed for check-in. The cabins are located within the Thompson Bay area (off Gem Road) next to the camping ground and BBQ facilities. Folder beds and cots are available for hire by contacting Central Reservations at least 48 hours prior to your arrival. Please note that the hostel has a no-alcohol policy. Situated opposite the beach, Rottnest Island Authority offers self-contained accommodation on beautiful Rottnest Island. The island features early colonial buildings, a historic lighthouse and several underground tunnels to explore. Accommodation options include self-contained villas, dormitory rooms and basic cabins. Boasting one of West Australia's most unique island getaways, Rottnest Island Authority's check in office is just 2 minutes' walk from the Rottnest Island Main Jetty, which offers ferry services to and from Fremantle and Perth. The ferry to the island takes approximately 30 minutes. Surrounded by crystal-clear blue waters and white sand beaches, Rottnest Island is 11 km long, and 4 km at its widest point. It is located 20 km west of Perth.
