Cruises - Several cruises are available for you to choose on any given day There is the 70 kilometer cruise aboard The Thunderbird covering Lake King and Lake Victoria or a 35km cruise aboard Stormbird into Lake King and around the shores of Metung with lunch at the hotel. There is also a short cruise aboard The Thunderbird which many visitors enjoy. Call us on 03 51551246 for further information Thunderbird Cruise “The Thunderbird” is the largest, most recognized charter boat operating on the Gippsland Lakes. 21 meters in length the aluminium catamaran is licensed to carry 190 passengers and has fully enclosed seating with large upper deck offering excellent viewing of Australia’s largest inland lake system. A fully enclosed snack bar serves alcohol, soft drinks and snacks. The four hour Cruise takes you into Lake King, then around the shores of Metung to the hotel for lunch. Stormbird docks in Metung for 2 hours, so after a hearty lunch and perhaps a wine or two, you will have time to explore the town’s shops and attractions before boarding for the return trip which takes you around Rigby Island and Chinaman’s Creek.
