Salty Seas

Salty Seas the 'Rock Lobster Shed' is ideally situated in St Helens on Tasmania's sunny East Coast located 300 metres west of the Fisherman's Wharf. The facility hosts commercial quantities of live southern rock lobster in aquarium tanks which are open for public viewing during the season, so bring your camera with you. All products are seasonally available from November till Easter and include Southern Rock lobsters, Lease 65 oysters, Tassie scallops and Australian prawns. You can select a freshly cooked lobster from the deli or a live Lobster from the tanks and take it home alive or allow an hour for it to be cooked for you, or simply drop in and learn more about our local commercial fish species and industries. Cold lobster platters are available during the season and can be enjoyed on the deck overlooking Medea Cove bird sanctuary, home to a variety of shoreline bird species. With plenty of parking and friendly experienced fish handlers Salty Seas is a must see for seafood enthusiasts.
