“The purple grain of Australia. Or lavender train. Or land of thousands of tiny purple flowers.”
One of the most stunning, and very purple, sights in Tasmania during December and January is Bridestowe Lavender Estate. The most-instagrammed property is spectacular with a purple haze of views spanning over 260 acres of lavender fields, landscaped gardens and native forest to the distant Mount Arthur. The visitor centre is stocked with sweet smelling products using Bridestowe's lavender oil and dried flower: hand creams and soaps, scented potpourri, room sprays, lavender flower honey, artisan jams and jellies, culinary lavender for cooking, and Bobbie the Lavender Heat Pack Bear. The Woodcroft Cafe offers a range of infused delicacies, all lavender inspired of course including lavender ice-cream and lavender brownies. Bridestowe Estate is located at Nabowla, 55 km from Launceston in Tasmania's North East.
