Matilda's of Ranelagh is a romantic bed and breakfast located in Tasmania's Huon Valley. With largely proportioned rooms, expansive grounds and charming outbuildings we offer spacious and comfortable accommodation in elegant surroundings that hark back to a bygone era. Built around 1860, the house provides a comfortable Library for our guests with an extensive collection of books, a stunning Drawing Room for tea or drinks, outdoor areas to explore and cosy seating in your room for those who prefer to hide away. Our guest rooms benefit from central heating, private bathrooms with underfloor heating, tea and coffee making facilities, and electric blankets on all beds. Port and chocolates are provided and a cooked breakfast is included in the tariff. The rambling twenty five room farm house sits within the five acre National Trust property, which has been referenced in several articles, featured in two published books and was even visited by Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth in 1970. You will find Matilda's around thirty minutes from Hobart, two minutes from Huonville and at least a hundred years from the rest of the world.
