Cecil Hotel Zeehan

An authentic Aussie pub is a rare thing these days, especially one with a resident ghost. Hotel Cecil, and the spirit of Maud Wrathall, has occupied this main street site since 1900, when Zeehan was at its heyday and there were 40 other hotels in the 'Silver City'. Stay in one of their two-bedroom miner's cottages, which are fully self-contained and have lovely brass beds and period touches. Or, if you prefer, there are very nice budget rooms in the hotel with shared facilities, but there is the chance you'll pass Maud in the corridor.
