Old Timers Mine, The

Visit the Old Timers Mine and Museum, South Australia's best Tourist Attraction 2011. It is Coober Pedy's premier and multi award winning, affordable and family friendly tourist attraction. Explore a 1916 underground opal mine, museum and 1920 to 1990 home. View three large good quality opal seams, opalised seashells in the roof in their natural state, Coober Pedy's largest painted lady opal. Audio guides are also available. Free opal mining machine demonstrations, blower and tunnelling machine available at 9.30am, 1.30pm and 3.30pm.
