“When outback meets safari meets wildlife meets nature!”
The Gawler Ranges, 600kms to the north west of Adelaide on the Eyre Peninsula, is Aussie outback at its best. This small family business, who began operating back in 1988, specialise in the wildlife and nature of the outback and west coast of South Australia. Guides provide an experience of contrasts. The diverse terrain changes from semi-desert to arid to eucalypt woodland, while the age old volcanic landscape is insanely good with its gorges and weathered rocky outcrops. In Spring, the desert comes alive with a carpet of wildflowers covering the landscape… and has over one hundred species of birdlife with colours that would inspire even the most amateur of painters! There are also many large kangaroo, emu and wombat populations so it is pretty safe to say you will see plenty of them. Over twenty years, they’ve trekked all through the South Australian outback, to the ocean and beyond with guests from all over the globe, returning home with new tales to tell and memories of a land with wildlife that is truly spectacular. Kangaluna Camp accommodation has large 7 by 5 metre luxury safari tents. Each tent has two rooms, with a queen bed and 2 single beds, plus your own private shower and toilet. The Camp is situated in a beautiful Mallee bush setting with abundant wildlife for viewing while on a walk, or from the dining area in the evening. There is a Swagon as an accommodation option, which is an old restored wagon and has a queen double bed enveloped in a swag cover, private bathroom included. No single supplement is charged for single travellers using the Swagon.
