Capricorn Caves

Capricorn Caves is the premier nature based attraction in Central Queensland. Here you can explore spectacular caves set in a limestone ridge and even spot little insectivorous bats in certain seasons. These magnificent caves are located north of Rockhampton and are winners of many major tourism and environment awards; they are also eco-tourism accredited. The Cathedral Cave Tour is the most popular with its wheelchair access and amazing natural acoustics within the Cathedral Chamber. It's a popular venue for weddings and Underground Opera held in the Cave twice a year. In December, the natural phenomenon of Summer Solstice Light can be seen on the 11am tour. For the adventurous, there are wild caving explorations or abseiling. The adrenaline charged caving tours involve underground exploration with the light of a cave helmet and are available on request.
