“Start your Warlukurlangu art collection with gloriously colourful acrylic paintings and limited-edition prints purchased directly from the artists.”
Visit Warlukurlangu Art Centre to start your Warlukurlangu art collection of colourful acrylic paintings and prints purchased directly from the artists. Located in Yuendumu near Alice Springs, Warlukurlangu is a fully Aboriginal-owned and governed art centre, which means that 100 per cent of the proceeds from all artwork sales go back to the artists and their community projects. Artists working at the Warlukurlangu Art Centre are famous for their vibrant, colourful paintings, and fine limited-edition prints. Many of its members' works are highly collectable. The art centre is both a stronghold of traditional Warlpiri culture and an essential part of Yuendumu community life. Warlukurlangu means 'belonging to fire' in Warlpiri, and is named after a Fire Dreaming west of Yuendumu. The Warlukurlangu art centre is located in Yuendumu, 300kms northwest of Alice Springs in the Northern Territory, Australia. Yuendumu is an Indigenous community of more than 1000 people who are predominantly Warlpiri-language speakers. A permit is not required when visiting the art centre for the day. Please contact Warlukurlangu before embarking on a trip, as sometimes seasonal and cultural factors affect the art centre's operations.
