Servicing an average of 80,000 visitors annually, The Lady Nelson Visitor and Discovery Centre provides a personalised information service on Mount Gambier and the Limestone Coast in the south east region of South Australia. Because Mount Gambier is centrally located between Adelaide and Melbourne, 10 minutes drive from the Victorian Border, a selected range of information is provided for all South Australian and Victorian regions. A small range of information for the other states is also available. On display at "The Lady Nelson" is the fossilized skull of Simosthenurus occdentalis, an extinct short-faced kangaroo estimated to be between 50,000 and500,000 years old, has been handed over to The City of Mount Gambier for display at the centre. A small fee applies for entry into the Discovery Centre. Please enquire direct.
