Tactile Arts is a member-based, community arts organisation supporting artists and artisans throughout the Top End of Australia. The Tactile Arts building was constructed after Cyclone Tracy as a way to bring people together again and rebuild community. We continue to bring the people of Darwin together in a way that is harmonious and creative. As part of this, we host workshops, exhibitions, craft fairs and artist in residence programs. Tactile Arts is located in the grounds of the Museum and Art Gallery, five minutes from the centre of Darwin. Our gallery and studios look out across the waters of Fannie Bay to the Beagle Gulf. We are surrounded by trees and stretches of grass and are often visited by goannas, frilled neck lizards and sea-eagles.
