All sites are in the pine trees so don't bother if you need to use your satellite dish. Close to the Black Hills, Wind Cave, Custer State Park, Hot Springs. Roads are a bit narrow and big rigs would need to watch for tree clearance. Sites vary in slope. Verizon 24.32/7.02 down/up with no booster.

Pleasant, mostly wooded campground, not a common parking lot KOA, on gentle slope in South Dakota hills, convenient to Wind Cave NP, either by main (south) or back (east on NP 5) entrances. Sites themselves generally well leveled, tho a few appear challenging. Close together. Full hookups including cable available. Open sites which accommodate large rigs and ARE open to allow satellite to the rear of the park. Large, clean, solar-cover heated pool with sun and shade. Very clean. Full, hot breakfast available in the morning. WiFi present, 5.7 down, 1 up at 7 am. Didn’t try in the evening hours.

I can’t say enough good things about this park. It’s definutely the nicest KOA we’ve been too, in a beautiful and convenient location.

Bathrooms are spotless, as is the rest of the facility. We arrived at the end of their season and the hosts couldn’t have been more gracious and welcoming.
Some minor toad noise, but not enough to bother us.

Overall great experience staying at this campground. I was told we were staying during a popular offroad event weekend, but never could tell. The park was extremely quiet, especially considering that the sites are a little cramped. Staff was very friendly and eager to help. Front office was able to give me directions to the nearest source for DEF. Trash cans are conveniently located throughout the park and the crews pickup regularly so not to cause any odors. All the sites in the upper loop seem to be very level ( I didn't notice anyone using major blocking). Would definitely stay here again and recommend to friends.

We were here during the off season (April) so it was extremely quiet. We had a beautiful patio site among the pine trees and awoke to the birds singing every morning. The owners and staff were tremendously kind and responsive to our questions. We work from the road so good Wi-Fi is essential on workdays and the service at this campground was really good. This was our second visit so I know that it does get very busy in the summer but we enjoyed their great pizza and pancake breakfast last time. Many great hiking trails within easy driving distance and close to Wind Cave National Park as well as Custer State Park.

This park was close enough for us to drive into Hot Springs to discover the bathhouses. The park does offer a shuttle for a fee but we drove into town and parked in the garage. Our truck did fit in the parking garage.

We also visited the alligator farm as well as Mid-America Science Museum, which is a must if you have kids!

The staff at the park wasnvery nice and the laundry room was very clean.

We were there 10/20/2019 - 10/24/2019. The pool was closed by then. I will say that the park is up a large hill. Just take your time but the park is big rig friendly. Internet worked well as my husband was able to work while we were there with a Verizon jet pack.

We would stay there again.

We are at the beginning of a 3 month trek and this was our first stop where we were staying a while. The campground was pretty hilly, but even with us being a newbie, it was easy to navigate. It is always nice to have the escort to your site! Our site was at the bottom of a hill, which was fun for the kids on their scooters! We were closest to the highway, so at times there was a bit of street noise, but we didn’t notice it much! Site was well maintained, we kept pretty busy, so didn’t have a chance to go to the pool and didn’t discover the playground until our last night. It was close to downtown and the National Park. We were very lucky to have great neighbors!

WiFi was a bit shotty, tethering to AT&T phone was at times better.

Dust bowl. Unlevel site. WiFi didn’t work. People there are friendly (as are most places). Campers walked right through our site. No privacy at all.

We stayed here on a last-minute trip to Hot Springs. The staff was extremely helpful in getting us to and out of our spot. The Pond location was nice and the park seemed well layed-out. Site was level with full hookups. Easy access to Hot Springs.

Found this KOA last minute while traveling through SD. Getting there and checking in were super easy. Todd left us a map, park pamphlet, and his phone number for our late check in. Park is well maintained and roads are clearly labeled. Since we visited in the off season we were having a hard time finding firewood, we called Todd to see if he had any suggestions and we found out that he/the camp sells wood and he even delivered it to our campsite. Todd was extremely nice when we spoke with him over the phone, he asked if the map made sense and asked if we needed anything. The bathroom/showers were extremely clean and we saw the trash was changed every day we were there. Park was quiet and since it is coupled up against some private property we even got to see a herd of cattle grazing about 50 feet away. The park is also very close to the town of hotsprings, about a 5 minute drive. Overall we had a great time and will be staying here again when we're in the area. Thanks Todd!
