“a family-owned organic dairy farm & artisan creamery”
Traders Point Creamery is a family-owned organic dairy farm and artisan creamery in Zionsville, Indiana. In 2003 we began with 150 acres of our grandparents’ land, a small dairy operation, and a big dream for bringing organic, 100% grassfed dairy products to the central Indiana region. Our vision is to “nourish the land that nourishes us all.” It’s why we chose to become the first USDA-certified organic dairy farm in Indiana, and why our farming practices combine time-honored techniques with the most current innovations in sustainable agriculture. It’s why we have committed to using no synthetic pesticides, herbicides, fertilizers, antibiotics or growth hormones, and why we package all our dairy products in glass. It’s why our herd of Brown Swiss cows roams freely in our pastures to feed on grasses, and why we love crazy things like good soil and manure. It’s why we support small local farmers by purchasing milk from other similar-sized regional 100% grassfed farms and why we host a sustainable farmers market.
Fun visit! We didn't get a chance to do a tour, but we were there for one a cow milking, which was interesting to see. The Loft restaurant looked amazing, though we did not eat there. On the way out, be sure to hit up the small store to look at / purchase their cheeses, milks, baked goods etc and get some ice cream!
My family loved this place. We stopped in for lunch and ice cream. We were greeted with friendly smiles. The main barn is historic and was moved from its original property. Parking is close. Once you park, you walk a very short distance to the front of the main barn where they have a walk up window for ice cream and beverages. They have natural sodas there as well. There was a fire pit with seating in front. We walked into the small shop and were guided to the restaurant upstairs (handicap can use the entrance on the other side of the barn and can be dropped off there as well). The food was amazing. We had Mac and cheese, a burger, the cheese board, and a chicken sandwich. Everything is sourced locally and tasted wonderful. We finished with ice cream of course. It’s a great place to stop for a bite or a snack. It was a bit expensive, but worth it for REAL food. So pretty. Loved it. Saving this place for future trips.
(We did not walk around because we were on a time constraint, but they do allow you to walk the 1.5 mile path around the grazing areas to see the animals and farm.)
It is a very nice place BUT their product is overpriced! Chicago farmers markets have cheaper eggs and dairy.
