“an incredibly relaxing getaway”
The Ahwahnee Hotel shines as Yosemite National Park's distinctive AAA Four-Diamond hotel. Known for its magnificent facade, and architecture, The Ahwahnee was specifically designed to highlight its natural surroundings, featuring Yosemite Falls, Half Dome and Glacier Point. The destination of queens and presidents alike, this distinctive Yosemite hotel offers a perfect balance of history, hospitality and elegance. The Ahwahnee's 150,000 square feet (14,000 m2) Y-shaped building has 99 hotel rooms, parlors and suites, each being accented with original Native American designs. 24 cottages bring the total number of rooms to 123. A room off the main lobby features skiing and Yosemite memorabilia. The building itself is designed to blend harmoniously with the nearby Yosemite Valley cliffs. Prices per night range from $439 to $1015. People believe the 6th floor is haunted by the ghost of Mary Curry Tressider who died there in 1970. At the time, the sixth floor was converted living quarters where she had resided for many years. People believe to see her ghost roaming throughout the floor to this day.
