The Great Lakes to Florida Highway Museum offers a look back to a time when Route 21 was the primary route to Florida from the Midwest.
Original artifacts, newspaper clippings and exhibits chronicle the development of the highway. The charming museum is appropriately housed in a restored 1950s gas station.
We think it's a great stop when visiting Wytheville VA!
“worth stopping”
Cute little museum. Worth stopping at, but parking is a bit sparse in the area. up the street is a nice visitor center as well.
Was expecting a lot more for $4.00. It's basically one room with a lot of old gas related items. There is nothing to tour. You walk from the Visitor's Center down to the Museum. Outside there are old gas pumps. An attraction for the able bodied.
