TRUE WY! Bighorn NF camping is 9100' elevation, so depends on snowpack -- Jun thru Sep. No cell service for 10 miles - then it is 'iffy,' no satellite radio or TV, just stars, babbling brooks, fishin, hikin, campfires, pines, stars & wildlife. Prune is just off Hwy 14 so some daytime Hwy noise.

WATCH OUT for Lucy Moosey, Daffy Calfy, and Wooly Bully in any BHNF campground (especially Prune), they may saunter off but won't run away!

Best to reserve a site, just a few 1st come, several sites are 40+'; our rate reflects a senior pass. Sites are level gravel with firepit & table, no HU, vault toilets & dispersed water pumps. There is a dump station closer (2 mi) toward Burgess Junction. Only BHNF CG with any elec is Sibley.

North Tongue CG has couple of 40' sites, EZ access. Owen Creek has EZ access & maybe 1 large site,Tie Flume & Dead Swede are further off pavement but have a few sites for big rigs.

This was a nice campsite in the Bighorn Mountains. Scenic with a river at the back and an additional creek passing close by our campsite. We also had our own resident moose! We saw her the first night getting a drink from the creek right by our campsite and then saw her again laying in the grass happily eating some grass.
The campground was easily accessible and very clean. The one downside was the close proximity to the road and there was also some work being done close by the party using some heavy machinery, making a decent amount of noise. However by seven PM the workers were done, and there wasn;t much in the way of noise from the highway after it got dark.

No cell service either.

Pulled in and found several spots available that backed to the river. Self serve registration. We arrived on the 9/20 but they were closing for the season on 9/22. The climb up hwy 14 to the Pass at 8700’ from Dayton was steep with the trailer but the road was good with pullouts. The campground was not far from Burgess Junction and on the easy access to beautiful hiking and fishing. There is a pit toilet and hand pump fresh water. Access for solar was not so good due to the heavy tree canopy. No cell service for miles. A bit tight for big rigs but my buddies did fine with a 32’ fifth wheel. The sites had fire rings, metal picnic tables with lantern hooks, and a small metal utility table for your gas barbecue. Hwy 14 is close but traffic is minimal at night.
