Confirmed by 3 users | Last reported on January 14, 2023We stayed here in Sept 2021. This is a well-maintained NFS campground on the North Cascades highway. Big campsites, with picnic tables and fire rings. Good privacy with trees and brush between sites. Vault toilets and water available. Right on a creek, which was nice. Good place to stay.
We traveled from here to Montana and found all the NFS campgrounds were closed, in September. This surprised us and upset our plans, thinking that they wouldn't close until October.

This is a basic National Forest Service campground on the roadside of Highway 20 (North Cascade Highway). The main appeal to this campground is it's proximity to the Cascade range. When I visited, the campground was very clean and seemed well maintained. Perhaps because it had just been opened for the season. The literature says the campground opens in July. This year, it was open in early June. The sites are generously sized, with fire pits and picnic tables in most sites. Some sites are pull through, but most are back in.
There are no hook-ups (unless you're the camp host), but there are numerous water spigots and vault toilets around the site. There's no sewage dump. There was some noise from highway 20 but it wasn't unbearable. The most noise came from the creek which runs adjacent to the camp ground. Also note that there is no cell service anywhere along the North Cascade Highway.

We camped in out truck camper at Lone Fir on Memorial Day 2022. It is a great little campground 23 miles out Twisp River Road. There are about 20 sites. Half are big enough for RVs and fifth wheels while the rest are great camper or tent sites. There are 4 sites right at the riverbank but you probably need to get there mid week to get one of those. We were able to get one of those and it was absolutely amazing!!
We had family and friends camping with us and we’re able to get 4 sites in a row which was very cool.
Mid week it is very quiet but it fills up fast on Friday.
