We stayed in the 100 Acre Woods section of the campground which was heavily treed. Most sites were well spaced with trees in between sites for screening. Big mostly level pull throughs as well as some back ins. You aren't far off the road but there is very little noise especially at night. Plenty of room to walk along the CG loops plus several foot paths heading back into the forest.
Whiteface mountain is just up the road, Lake Placid is 15 minutes away and you are easy striking distance to any of the High Peaks area hikes.
Owners were friendly and gave us a great recommendation for Ausable Brewing. Bonus, the campground store has the best craft beer selection I've ever seen at a campground and even has a couple of taps that you can get growler fills from!
Verizon signal was very weak, without our external antenna and booster we were bouncing between 3G and 4G. On the booster we got 4G but still not a strong signal. We saw speeds ranging from 2-7mbps down and 2-5 mbps up. There were some periods of connection interruption.
** Sites in the other section of the park are more the typical commercial park style, close together with just a thin strip of grass separating. Although, there are a couple of sites at the very end that are right on the water and pretty sweet

We stayed site 98E in the Hundred Acre Woods and were there for 2 weeks. The outer sites are wooded, but spacing varies. Unfortunately, there were no trees between 98E and 98D. We had the place pretty much to ourselves during the week, but the weekends got quite busy. AT&T had very poor data connection, <0.5 MB/s, as did T-Mobile. Their WiFi was very inconsistent, where I had to disconnect and reconnect multiple times per day to get measurable data rates. They do have a very nice network of trails, both within the campground property and in the surrounding forest, all of which were leashed dog friendly. There are also lots of hiking trails along the river and around Lake Placid. Several were leashed dog friendly.
