“only zoo in Delaware!”
Brandywine Zoo is a small 12-acre (4.9 ha) zoo and a state park that opened in 1905 in Brandywine Park in Wilmington, Delaware, USA. It consists of the main zoo as well as a separate Exotic Animal House for small animals from hotter climates. It is located on the banks of the Brandywine River, and is the only zoo in Delaware. The zoo is managed by the Delaware Division of Parks and Recreation and supported by the Delaware Zoological Society and is open daily.
Even for a small state this is a small zoo. The gift shop is nice.
Small zoo, parking is free and in lot to the side of the zoo. Animals seem taken care of, it’s clean, and not expensive to get into. We saw otters, serval, tamarin, and other small scale animals. Worth a stop for a quick hour tour.
yes it is small, but hard to complain when you visit on a day with free admission.
