Canyon Motel & RV Park

We stayed here mid Oct., views of the surrounding mountains were fantastic, we opted for this location because of its access to the Grand Canyon and Flag Staff, the town of Williams has some cool little shops on route 66, the $20 PA rate (5 day limit) is based on 30 amp service, AC's were not needed this time of year. We travel with two dogs and the park is somewhat pet friendly, they have direct access to the national forest directly behind the park, just 100 feet from our site where the dogs were allowed to be off leash, CAUTION there was allot of broken glass as you approach the trail into the forest near the block wall. Overall we enjoyed our stay.

We were welcomed warmly when we arrived and our reservation was as advertised. As Passport America members, we enjoyed a 50% discount on our 50 amp, full hookup site. The office was nicely laid out, with lots of souvenirs, maps and local information. The staff was super friendly and the escort to our site was prompt and smiling. Our gravel & grass site was clear of trash and wide enough to park our tow car beside our motor home. There were several trash & recycling stations located very nearby; each was self contained and clean. Other than an occasional trail, the park is very quite.

The Historic District of Williams was only a few minutes away. This is a small town with a lot happening, including the train station for the Grand Canyon Railroad line. We drove a few miles up Historic Route 66 to a hiking trail that led to Keyhole Sink, a local favorite with Native American petroglyphs visible after a very easy 1 mile hike thru a Ponderosa Pine forest.

Check in was smooth, only $26.50 with Good Sam Discount, and Wifi that actually works. That sums of most of what we need in an RV park!

Spots were quite large and easy to get into. I backed in but the site was about 3x the width of our RV so it was easy.

Indoor pool is small and says "heated" but was cold. On the hot days though, it was okay.

Laundry was a bit pricey when we were here ($2.50 & $2.00) but was a clean area.

Playground was really small and not so great to use.

54 miles from Grand Canyon and 5 from historic downtown Williams, Arizona.

Overall, a wonderful place to stay at and would come back for sure!

Grand Canyon railroad just minutes away as well as the town of Williams with lots of restaurants and things to do. The park itself has level gravel sites each with picnic table. Nice individual shower/bathrooms and laundry $2.50 per wash. There is an indoor pool as well as playground. There are railroad cars rented as rooms as well as individual cabins. National Forrest is backed up to park. Good Sam Park but we chose to get six days with free seventh day.

we got there at11:15, 45 minutes before checkin time. i told the young girl at the front desk i had no problem waiting, she said you cant wait here. you have to pay a 10.00 early check in fee. i said no i will wait. then she said you cant wait here you have to get off the property. i said WHAT? she said there is plenty of places to park down town. i said excuse me? its only 45 minutes??? she said yes and its in the e-mail we sent you. i said whatever. we will go to another rv camp. then we would have lost the 4 days i paid for the place. so i said we will be back, she said we had to be escorted off the property, some guy came and we followed him around the park. they have 48 lots and only 10 lost were taken and nobody was in 25 which was the one we were assigned. so we left, went in town. came back 1 hr later. then i had to sign a threat (as i took it) that i had to unhook the water and sewer drain at night, and if i didn't. and it froze. we would be fined a min. of 600.00 bucks for the repair. i said what??? if ur equipment freezes why do i have to pay for it???? then i went to the lot. filled up my water tank. unhooked everything. when i did hook up to drain my tanks that's when i found out that the sewer connection is up hill from the rig. so you had to walk the line down every-time. also the lot is far from level. i had to put 6 leveler blocks to get my rig level. all they care about is your money. i have never been treated this bad at any rv camp ground. most campgrounds bend over backwards to help the guest. i will never stay at canyon rv park again.

Stayed here 2 nights to visit Grand Canyon. The place looks a little funky at first glance, but the staff was very friendly and the campground was well-maintained. Convenient access off I-40 and only a mile or so into Williams. Restrooms and showers were clean. Didn’t use the laundry. Site was pretty and it was convenient to walk my dogs in the National Forrest area behind the campground. Site was on a hillside and not really level. There is some road noise and a train runs nearby day and night, but it’s not too bad.

Quiet and next to the Kaibab national forest. A beautiful park with large ponderosa trees and reasonably flat sites. Because of Covid-19 the laundry room and bathrooms were closed so no comment on those. Water pressure was good, shirley and julia were very helpful, and its a quick jaunt to town for re-provisioning. We stayed here to escape the heat of Tucson and it was great. If you golf do not pass up Elephant Rock Golf Course. A wonderful course that is well maintained in every way. No issues on the full hookups and this park can easily accept large Class A motorhomes.

The site was just fine. Fairly level, but no shade. Convenient location to the Grand Canyon and the front desk was pleasant on the phone. We stayed one night while touring the Grand Canyon in a brand new camper with a new truck. I got an email days later saying the groundsman found the site needed attention. And they charged my card for $15 without asking for letting me know. I’m baffled as to what that damage could have been since we only hooked to water and electric, never used the sewer. An email to them was returned as undeliverable. Poor business practices.

Nice place. A little bit on the rustic side. Near town and Grand Canyon.

Biggest gripe was the pads are small and if level immediately slope down on many mine included. Had about 3 feet of level ground then ~8 feet down to next space. Obviously the slope only serves to separate campers. Some were very nice though. The one next to me had a huge flat area with a tree out front!

Staff is on top of things and friendly.

Despite the sloping spaces they had lots of pull through and there was ample space between campers so not stacked like cord wood I see in so many other parks.

We stayed here after boondocking near Dogtown lake. It’s a nice park and friendly service. They had a little store with basic amenities and treats. Our space was large enough to fit our 32 foot trailer, F250, F150, and our 16 foot utility. Park was fairly quite, with the occasional sxs leaving. The location is perfect to visit Williams, nearby lakes, and Bearizona. We worked here remotely using our cellphones as hotspots and mifi using Verizon without issue. The park Wi-Fi was spotty during peak times and ok to surf the web off-peak. We would stay here again next time we are in Williams.
