“eight miles of Green Bay shoreline”

Peninsula State Park is a 3776 acre Wisconsin state park with eight miles (13 km) of Green Bay shoreline in Door County. Peninsula is the third largest state park in Wisconsin, and is visited by an estimated 1 million visitors annually. The camp store at Nicolet Beach has essential supplies, souvenirs and ice. The snack bar, open during the summer, features pizza, burgers and soft-serve ice cream. Nicolet Beach Concession also rents canoes, kayaks, bicycles, tandems and tagalongs. Rentals are seasonal and weather dependent. Peninsula's White Cedar Nature Center is a fun, family-friendly place, featuring nostalgic photos, taxidermy birds and mammals, a huge light-up map of the park, and a stuffed black bear. The Friends of Peninsula State Park sell field guides, kids' items and park clothing with all proceeds supporting nature education at the park. The center is on Bluff Road next to the wood yard.

It's beautiful and well-kept, but the campground is a bit too busy for my taste. I love biking and exploring out there and it's nice if you want to get outdoors, but want a more relaxing trip. There are a lot of great shops and restaurants right in Fish Creek.
