Bear Branch Nature Center

To provide nature study and environmental education to visitors of all ages, focusing on native plant and animal life. Most people enjoy coming to Hashawha Environmental Center because of the beautiful surroundings. This serene setting allows visitors to relax and appreciate the natural environment all around them. Service Located in northern Carroll County off Route 97 North, just outside the gates of the Hashawha Environmental Center. Members receive a seasonal newsletter with a calendar of events listing upcoming programs such as nature hikes, environmental programs, and planentarium programs. The Center features a library resource room, a bird observation room, a discovery room, an exhibit hall, an auditorium, a 40-seat planetarium, and a gift shop. No reservations are required for nature center usage, although program registration is required. Volunteers, age 12 and older, are needed to help at the Nature Center.
