“connect & unwind”

“…nothing so liberalizes a man and expands the kindly instincts that nature put in him as travel and contact with many kinds of people.” – Mark Twain The endless river traffic of the Mississippi is the main attraction at TOM SAWYER’S. The atmosphere is relaxed, laid back and peaceful while the RV Park is clean, well maintained and totally natural. The view of the sun rising over The Mississippi River is rivaled only by the full moon rising in the fall. Plenty of trails and wildlife compliment the nicely mowed fields and long, level concrete sites. Across the River is unspoiled Tennessee flood plain and just one bend upstream is the Memphis skyline. If it’s fishing you are looking for then look no further since we have a lake and two ponds stocked with an amazing array of fish.Tom Sawyer’s is only a few very convenient miles on a smooth, new road from both I-40 and I-55 as well as 15 minutes from all the great action in a resurgent Downtown Memphis or 25 minutes from Graceland if you’ve never been! Our RV sites are easy access pull-thrus with 30 or 50 amp power, city water and city sewer. We have over 3 dozen concrete sites and you can choose from the shade of the woods or the edge of the river for your visit.  In addition to our lovely motor home riverfront section, our brand new 5th wheel riverfront section is designed so that the large rear picture window looks out over the Mississippi River. You can sit under your awning, which also faces the river, on the just poured concrete pads and throw a rock in the water! TO OUR RETURNING CUSTOMERS: OUR ENTRY ROAD HAS BEEN BEAUTIFULLY REPAVED!!! So much is planned for the future you should keep coming back to experience our ever improving environment. We hope you enjoy your stay and always welcome suggestions for creating a more unique and enjoyable experience for our guests. Pricing Our RV sites are long easy access pull-throughs with 30 and 50 AMP power, city water and city sewer. You have the choice of either a concrete or level gravel site. We do have several back-in sites for those visitors who like a lot of shade. We also have tent sites available. We are pet friendly with plenty of nature trails and open fields to walk your dog. We really enjoyed this place. After hearing from multiple people that staying any closer to Graceland would put us in a high crime area, we picked this place (about 15 minutes away) and it was a great choice. You can opt to stay right on the Mississippi River or a bit father back among huge beautiful trees. It's well run and clean with free really nice laundry facilities. You can buy copies of Tom Sawyer in the office and they pick up trash multiple times a day from each site. I'd definitely stay here again.

This is a nice quiet park with beautiful views of the Mississippi River. There isn’t really anything to do, and it’s super hot if you don’t have a lot by the trees, but it was great as a stopping point on our way through.

We are staying at Tom Sawyer's RV Park - right on the Mississippi in West Memphis, AR. Stayed here last year and wanted to return and watch the river again. If you've not been, it's a worthwhile stop for a couple of days just to sit and watch the River and the barge traffic. Last year I was able to watch the "living" river as a huge sand bar appeared over a period of 5-6 days.
The park is quiet (but for when a river barge is passing) and very peaceful. Memphis is just across the river and Graceland being 15 miles. There is a Super Walmart and a Kroger within minutes. There is another local grocery - Stimson's Big Star - that is just a couple of minutes closer on Broadway. Plenty of fast food and other dining choices are close by as well.
Rates are $31-49 per night depending on whether you have a "by the river" site as well as either a gravel or concrete. I have a concrete "by the river" site and paid $294 for the week - $42 bucks a night and I have what I consider the best site in the park - #66. For the "on the river" sites, they offer a section for motorhomes - see the river through the windshield; and a 5th wheel section - see the river from your back window.
There are no amenities (pool, pickle ball, etc.) to speak of but the river itself is enough for me. Wifi is offered and is free "but NOT guaranteed." I did try to connect and although connection was easy, I could not open Facebook. I use my Verizon hotspot with unlimited (old plan) data and have a good signal.
There is no cable and satellite may be difficult in SOME sites due to large shade trees. I have a good choice of 32 HD OTA channels and television is not a huge factor for me so I'm good. Sites are long and decent width with well-placed hookups and have a fire ring and picnic table. Concrete pads are wide enough to have a bit of a "patio" as well. There are fishing ponds, a nice hiking trail as well as a huge, well-manicured field if you have a group for football or futbal (soccer). There is easy access to bike path to the "Big River Crossing" over to Memphis.
Laundry is FREE - there are two shower/laundry buildings. The one closest to me has two washers and two dryers. Bathroom / showers are dated but very clean. Trash is picked up at your site throughout the day.
Staff/owners are great and the park is convenient to downtown Memphis. Do yourself a favor and plan a stay if you're ever in the area.

Unique campground right on the Mississippi. Highly recommend for the view and ambiance. Sunrise over the river is amazing. Bathrooms are clean but unisex.

We stayed there one night but really enjoyed it. Our site was gravel, pull through, and right on the river. There are benches along the shore where you can sit and watch the river traffic. That was easy from our picnic table as well. We were there in April so these sites were perfect, but if it was hot, you might prefer to be under some trees further back. It was an easy 15 minutes into Memphis with shopping nearby. The laundry was free (a first for us) but the water is only cold and we had to run the dryer twice to get our clothes dry - still we're not complaining! We would definitely stay there again.

So peaceful. Such an amazing serene view of the river. Very clean and quiet for a Friday night. Off season is perfect time to visit, love the fall colors next to the water. We will definitely keep this park on our rotation. Thank you Tom Sawyer’s RV Park for a wonderful stay.
