Stayed in the campground for the 1st time this weekend. It is beautiful and the aquatic park was wonderful for such a hot day yesterday! Plus it only cost $3/person...sweet! Great bike trails in the park and a nice playground too. The bathhouse was in excellent condition. We'll definitely be back!

This is a lovely state park. All of the full hook up campsites are well planned to provide privacy. They are large and sheltered by pine trees. They also offer prairie view camping with electric that are not as sheltered but are large and offer a nice view. There are hiking trails, fishing, and bicycle trails. My favorite thing about this park is the peacefulness. It is also very close to Lafayette/West Lafayette and Purdue University. This area has a lot of history from the Battle of Tippecanoe at the start of the French Indian War. In the park there is a working farm and farmhouse from the 1920s and a Native American village. Last year they opened a water park in the state park, which concerned me, but it is placed away from the natural areas and is a nice addition for kids. This is one of our favorite camping locations. We have Verizon and our cell service and Internet has been good. No wifi and spotty TV reception.

This was our first visit to this state park and we were pleasantly surprised how beautiful the landscape was throughout the park! The natural prairie grass fields are so peaceful and create a relaxing atmosphere. Everyone was friendly and helpful at the front gates when we arrived. They gave us a map of the park and some helpful suggestions for activities for our weekend. Our site had a picnic table and good working fire ring. It was surrounded by spruce trees which made it very private. It was easy to back into our site as it was level and all the hookups worked well. The first thing did is go to the visitors center. The person there was very nice and talked to us about the area. There is a display of animals and history information. We hiked across the road to the Indiana village and hiked through the prairie trails to the farmstead. What a wonderful day! We enjoyed the farmhouse where Henry taught us how to play the player piano and old fashion toys. We saw chickens, turkeys, horses, and sheep OH MY! The blacksmith was interesting and shared his creations with us. We purchased some steaks to put on the grill that evening for dinner and raspberries for breakfast-which were fantastic! The bike path looked great but we didn't have our bikes on the at trip but wished we did....next time we will bring them for sure. The weather was hot enough to swim but the aquatic park was closed because it was after Labor Day so I can't comment on that but we drove by it and we really want to go our next visit. The Wolf Park was outside the park - about a 15 drive- we enjoyed the tour and learned a lot about wolves, coyotes and fox.
We are definitely going back to this park...hopefully the construction on 65 will be completed because honestly that was the only negative thing about this trip. Happy Trails!

Most recent stay was June 6th 2017- I'm "late" in posting my review ~ We camp in a "Tear Drop” style RV only 15' long w/o toilet or shower ~ plus we like to eat outdoors using the picnic table and set up our dining canopy for sun and weather protection and thus rely on condition of campgrounds facilities and being nearby our site ~ so our critique is focused in that area

Liked our site #210, (electric only) was in newer section of park right next to restroom albeit it had no shade trees unlike the older section that did. Modern restroom/shower building; very roomy with ample # of stalls with full tiled walls was clean and well kept. Each stall had bench in changing area and ample hooks for towels and clothes. Nice conveniences but it would have been better if there were rubber floor mats as you exit shower to keep feet off wet floor. Communal sink area had shelves for toiletries beneath each mirror but no hooks for hand towels and no paper towels for cleanup after use leaving sinks somewhat messy.

Overall grounds were well cared for; grassy areas surrounded sites that were large and flat with gravel and level and good distance way from neighboring sites. Minimal vegetation between sites for privacy but time will tell. This state park gets a high rating and will return when in the area.

Beautiful facilities but at a cost. We chose an electric only and enjoyed the site along the prairie. Quite breezy. Bathrooms were immaculate and there are water sources everywhere.

Prophetstown is a new state park--less than 10 years old near the towns of Battle Ground, Lafayette and West layette, IN. It's easily accessible from the highway yet very much in a rural setting. The drive into the park and campgrounds is long but the road is wide and the landscape is beautiful Midwest prairie.
There are two adjacent campgrounds,Spruce, which is wooded and Savannah which is in a open and sunny. All are full hook ups. The sites are large--although the Spruce sites appear to be larger and the Savannah--and mostly level.
Hiking/biking trails are all paved and plentiful. There are large open expanses of prairie and plenty of picnicking spots. Also on park land there are an operating 1920's historic farm, an Indian village and a water park.
We've camped here in both Fall and Spring and look forward to coming back.

This is by far the best state campground we have stayed in all of our travels. The grounds were immaculate, the biking/walking trail system is top notch. The park includes a working farm that you can visit at no extra charge, a fantastic aquatic center with water slide, lazy river and interactive kids' pool for $5 per person for the whole day. If you decide to venture outside the park, the Lafayette area has much to offer in restaurants and activities.

Our campsite was gravel and grass, it was pretty level. We had full hookups. There are some water electric sites as well. In the center of the campground there is a very nice bathhouse with flush toilets. Vault toilets are also available in other parts of the campground and park.

We felt like this was a great place to stay and look forward to returning.

It was a very nice state park. Clean and well kept. The bike trails were great, The swimming was nice, A bit pricey everyone over three is $5. Thought kids who weren’t tall enough to ride the slide should have gotten a price break (we had two) 😉. We will return

This is our second time camping at this state park. WiFi is not the greatest but that is okay. We come here for the scarecrow exhibits. Everyone is quite friendly especially the camp ground hosts. There are a lot of good restaurants in the area. A winery and a brewery too! The nice thing about this location is the pull through sites are full hook ups. In the summer there’s a water park. Which we have not experienced yet. I recommend this campground to everyone!

This was our second time at this state park and it was wonderful both times. The full hook-up sites are spacious and have plenty of trees to provide privacy and shade. They were clean, dry, and level. We were here for a week of camping with our siblings and their spouses, and we all enjoyed the peace and relaxation. We rode bikes on the bike trail, visited the historic farm, and spent plenty of time at the aquatic center. There is shopping and dining not too far away. The park was easy to access and the drive to the camping section was beautiful. The whole park was clean and the staff very helpful. We camped in a 32' travel trailer and had no problem fitting into our site. We will definitely camp at Prophetstown again.
