Boon Island Ale is a gathering place where the Maine Microbrews are ice cold and fresh. Our Brewer, Don Chandler (of Oak Pond Brewery) has crafted some of the finest ale you will ever taste. All of the BIA featured ales are brewed in Skowhegan Maine. They are from grain. No priming sugars are added.The featured NUTBROWN ALE uses 8 different malts, toasted and coffee like tones. Imported English hops provide a full a pleasant hop profile.The BIA featured INDIA PALE ALE is a medium bodied ale with a smooth spicy hop flavor; finishes with a fine hop aroma.The BIA featured LAGER is a smooth dry pils in the German tradition. With a longer brew time and a temperature controlled environment. This golden pilsner provides a crisp, refreshing flavor with a creamy dense head.The BIA featured LIGHT is light, crisp ale with a smooth, clean finish - light hopping with a hint of wheat malt blend, in a mellow brew with a creamy white head.THE FOOD:Just ask your server about our seasonal Specials. Our BIA Burgers, Pizzas, Salads, Chowders, and Appetizers are all uniquely prepared. Try our own BIA “Beer B Que” sauce. Also, this sauce is bottled and sold in our retail area. Try our unique chipotle sauce ideal with our appetizers. Speaking of appetizers, BIA shark bites are unbelievable! Finish your meal with a blueberry crisp or a fried banana foster!THE DRINKS:Try our famous HONOLULU HAMMER. It’s a tropical concoction of vodka, amaretto, southern comfort and juices from fresh squeezed fruits.Try our famous GOWANNAH GRABBAH. A tropical concoction (not as sweet) of white and dark rum, pina colada liquor and juices from fresh squeezed fruits, garnished with a slice of pineapple.Try our famous MAINE BLUEBERRY COSMO made with Cold River blueberry vodka, Cointreau, fresh squeezed lime juice and a dab of sour mix.
