We did not actually stay at the park, but needed a place to leave RV while we stayed in Fort Collins and wanted to keep it plugged in.

This park has a rather large overflow parking area that you can leave RV in for $6 per day or $10 per day with power (30 amp plug on 20 amp breaker). It was not really level and lots of bugs, but worked well for what we needed.

The park itself seemed pretty good, but a bit far from the city if you are coming to visit Fort Collins.

We normally boondock but there were few options around the area for free so we stayed 2 nights at the KOA. It was OK. Several long term campers with rundown RV's but everyone was nice. The pull through had plenty of space and we fit fine with our 43' fifth wheel. The area is surrounded by farm land with the usual farm smells but that didn't bother me. We had a million moths each night and I couldn't figure out how we got so many inside. Took us 3 days to clear them out after we left. It was a quick stop off the highway but still very quiet at night. I'd prefer another location it was fine with so little options nearby.

The complex is well maintained with trees between the spots, but the smell from the cows grazing in the field next door made going outside our RV impossible. Also, the wi fi was too weak to use. On the plus side, the office staff was very helpful and polite.

Not a good experience. Moved after the first night. We were in full sun and they would not let us move to shaded site. In the evening the wind shifted and blew out of the north. Because there is a cattle feed lot less than one mile away to the northwest the smell was unbearable. The wind shifted after about an hour then shifted again at 2:00 a.m. and the cattle feed lot smell came back for another hour. We moved the next day to Loveland.

Back in the day when you saw KOA, it meant a higher quality place or slightly higher than local price. Not here… Although the staff are very nice and helpful the facility is below par. Although a few of the long term big rig sites are concrete, Our site was just plain dirt, not even graveled. Slope required our 24’ class B to have the front wheels off the ground to level. The sewer drain is higher than the ‘pad’ making it unusable. For $60? And yes, although you can’t blame the owners for causing the cattle feedlot smell when the wind is out of the East, whew.

Super nice staff, they even helped to park your RV. Full hook ups. The only problem was I couldn’t tell if my old dog had to poop or was that the smell from the farm close by. Many flies buzzing around as well. But over all nice place with nice people.

We would only return if we could find no other options with availability, mostly due to price and location. Wellington is a bit far out of Fort Collins and a longer way to see the national park. The approximate quarter-mile access road to the driveway is dirt/gravel and at the pavement transition is seriously pot-holed, GO SLOW! The interior roads are a mix of concrete and dirt gravel, many of the dirt/gravel roads being HEAVILY rutted, GO SLOW! Our site was concrete pad pull-thru with FHU's. There is a nice office/rec room with showers and bathrooms, the pool is adjacent to that building. We knew going in that the pool was currently closed for repairs, but with prices this high I would think a little more concentrated attention on getting things fixed would be a priority. It did not appear that any major repairs were under way, the pool was full of water and pump running while we were there. Nobody went near the pool area during our 3 day stay. An unusable pool in mid-July in 90 degree temps is not a real popular draw I would think. There are the usual playground areas, dog run, tent and cabin areas, & outdoor pavilion for BBQ parties.

$75 for a part dirt part crab-grass tent site miles away from anything. Glass Shred in tent area, Cigarette butt In firepit, wrappers In dirt. miles away from anything. The bug infestation was awful to say the least. I understand it's something that location dependent but at that rate for a tent site I would be investing in lawn treatment. Pool was not working. They said something about a permit. Other travelers that been through there while back said its been out for a while. Family shower had a weird shower had attachment with multiple bars some of which were lose and not functioning as intended. Toilet in family bath was not flushing correctly. Nearby farm send a terrible stinge for part of our stay. Office area had nicely manicured front area and surrounding the prime pull-through RV sites, which is who they seemed to cater to. They gave some refund. Not sure why but suspect because I inquired why the price was the same after using reward points. Realized they charge extra for our 15 year old. I guess some KOAs rather cater to crusty class-A rig owners then to families that like or rely on camping for their summer trips. Get with it or leave the franchise and go independent RV only. OMG and the bugs wouldn't let off. $75 for a tent site and $199 for a primitive cabin miles away from anything, WTF?? (July 2023)
