Confirmed by 5 users | Last reported on September 02, 2021We stayed here in the off season for 2 nights and we enjoyed it. The park was clean and well maintained. The bathroom/ shower house is older but very clean. There is a pool but it was closed while we were there. Since we were there so late in the season, the park was relatively quite and empty. This was a good thing because if the park would have been full, we would have been packed in like sardines. We had one neighbor in site 29A and after we opened the slide out, there was maybe 3ft between the two of us. If they had pulled in from the other direction, they wouldn't have had room to put out an awning. Additionally, the road in and out of the park is narrow and can really only fit one rig at a time. Another thing of note would be the loud and continuous gun fire at a nearby shooting range on Sunday mornings. We are both prior military have spent enough time on military bases that we can tune that noise out, but I can imagine that it would really bug some other people.
We stayed in a water/ electric site for $42 per night (a bit pricey, IMO) but they have full hook up sites for $45. It is a Good Sam park so you can get a small discount if you are a member.
Overall, we would come back but it would be in the off season again to avoid any possible congestion.

This park is rated highly by Good Sams. It has a ton of positives but has way too many drawbacks. We have a 40' class A and I could barely get my rig between two large trees into my full service lot #61 with water, sewer and 50A power. Very tight. Branches from trees hung down to a height I could reach up and touch, which is about 8' but my rig is almost 13' high so had to plow through branches to park my rig. Hardly a level gravel pad in park, my coach could not level itself. Worst thing, a gun shooting range was about 100 yards from our coach, not 22 caliber but deer hunting caliber.. Our dog was traumatized beyond belief. Many positives but way too many negatives. We would not stay there again. Plus, they charge you 3% to use a credit card. Come on!!!! Read all reviews before staying.

Good place to stay, owners are doing a lot of work to upgrade the park. The park needs to improve water flow through the RV area. I recommend this park.

Stayed there in November in our 42’ coach. Campsite was close to the city, but just far away enough to provide a very nice camping experience. We were welcomed by a helpful and knowledgeable staff, as well as a little wild life in the form of deer and wild turkeys. The grounds were clean and well maintained. Full hook ups worked well. Easy access on and off I-80 and very close to the I-35 interchange. Shooting club close by was a little loud at times during the weekend, but not awful. We will most definitely stay again!

We were exhausted and sick. Coming from Portland and winding up here on the way home. Called to see if still open/available on October 30, lady owner said yes. To be honest, the place wasn’t so bad but I don’t like to be fooled with. At check in at 8:45 at night, the woman said an overnight site total was $47.13. But she ran the card and we paid $49.01. It was weird until I saw the $1.88 svc charge - obviously for credit cards. Thing is, she didn’t SAY anything! Didn’t even ask if we wanted to pay cash. That felt sneaky. We were led to the pull through campsite which was long but not level and, while another reviewer remarked the full-time residents are at least “neat,” it’s still unnerving to BE right next to them!? Another problem, the lady owner was so proud to offer her “heated bathrooms” in the basement of the main house. SKIP IT! OMG! No. Don’t do it. Oh! And if one more campground touts their WIFI I will go off! Yeah, sure, there’s WiFi - IF YOU’RE STANDING AT THE SOURCE! Stop it campgrounds! You can no longer use that as a selling feature!!!! We weren’t even 100 feet from the main house - nada! To sum up - There were many trees and it is off the highway, but if you stay here you will PAY and it might not be worth it!

We were passing through Des Moine for the night and were looking for a place that wasn't seasonal and allowed us to have full hookups. They turned off water for the season, but we were told that they would fill our tank if we wanted. Which we thought was really great. We were off the beaten path, but still really close to everything to go grocery shopping and top our tanks and truck off right in Des Moine. The campground was nicely maintained and we opted for a spot in the woods rather than the hill because it was so cold out. Our neighbors were quiet and it was just what we were looking for!

We were glad to get a site day of on our drive through Des Moines. I was quoted $44/night over the phone for a W/E site but, after all their fees, actually paid just over $51/night. I would rather have been told the full amount when I asked initially. Our site was a level, easy pull through. The big, clean pool was a welcome relief from the heat! Showers were clean and warm with good water pressure. Dump station was easily accessible with a convenient hose for holding tank flush. The Rec Room left a bit to be desired with multiple broken/nonfunctional games. We decided to stay a second night so we could explore Des Moines for a day and were pleased that Timberline could accommodate us without having to change sites. Overall, a very good experience and would stay here again.

We stayed here overnight just passing through the area. Although the 90 sites they have to offer are all packed into a smaller area, they seem to be laid out well for entering and exiting with our 36 foot fifth wheel. I watched a couple others come in with bigger rigs and they seem to have no issues backing into sites. Site was fairly level side to side. Park was very clean and staff extremely accommodating. They are very good with the barking dog police. When I made my reservation, I had requested a pull through because we wanted to remain hitched up and depart easily in the morning. When I got to the office they had us in the back and that would not accommodate remaining hitched. But it was easily remedied, and we got our pull through. We were here in mid October and the weather had taken a turn toward winter. The washroom facilities below the registration office was kept toasty warm and very clean. They are adding another complete section of campsite. Wi-Fi was good where we were, it was nice to have the 50 amp to run heaters! You could hear the faint sound of I 80, but it was not enough to be a problem for light sleepers.
