“Where Lincoln once ate”
Twelve miles north of Evansville and one mile east of US Hwy 41, the Log Inn was built in 1825 as a Noon Day Stage Coach Stop and Trading Post. We have been officially recognized as the oldest restaurant in Indiana. While visiting the Log Inn, you can dine in the same original log room that Abraham Lincoln visited in 1844. One of the oldest original inn and stage coach stops in the United States, the Log Inn was built in 1825. Abraham Lincoln stopped here in November 1844 en route back home from Evansville. He was on a campaign tour speaking for “Clay for President” on the Clay Whig party ticket.
