“Take a tour underground!”
An experienced miner is your guide as you as you walk through the main drift of an actual underground silver mine. Using exhibits and demonstrations of operating mining equipment, you will learn the historical and modern-day techniques used to mine silver out of the mountains and into our lives. The 128-year history of mining in the Coeur d'Alenes has created a unique and colorful mining culture. Your guide will share his personal experiences as a hard-rock miner in the Coeur d'Alene district. The stories, demonstrations, and exhibits included in the Sierra Silver Mine Tour are fun and educational for people of all ages and interests.
Never took the tour because of timing but this quaint little town nestled into the mountains is a gem!
This is a must see town and tour! You get a very informative tour of the little town on a trolley then a tour of an old silver mine from a retired miner. I would do this tour again.
We were going to stop for an hour in this town but so much to see. We did the mine tour andwalked around. So fun
My family loved this tour. You are taken to the mine by a trolley, and the driver tells you a brief history of the town as you travel. At the mine you are met by an experienced miner who shares tons of interesting information and history about the mine all from the perspective of someone who had worked the mines for decades. This was a great choice for our family! Thanks!
This was a really cool tour not just a walk in a big whole in the ground. Actual silver mine with working mining equipment that was demonstrated on our tour. The town of Wallace is small but big on friendliness.
Highly informative guide and a fun adventure for the day.
My great-grandfather and his father before him were all miners in this area. It was a great tour to show the younger generation a little bit of what their great-great grandparent's lives were like. The tour guide an ex-miner himself, was frank, informative and had a great sense of dry humour. It should also be added that it was an educational mine, that was used to teach high school youth mining up until the 90s when it was turned into the current tourist attraction that exists today.
Best mine tour I've ever been on. Very informative & love seeing the tools being used! We thoroughly enjoyed this.
Great tour. Loved being in the actual mine and our experienced miner was awesome! Very informative! 😁
Excellent tour. Very informative and they run mining tools while you are in the mine. Kids loved it and husband wants to be a miner!
