“first restaurant to open in downtown Waco”
The Original Buzzard Billy's Armadillo Bar and Grill-o opened in Waco, Texas in January, 1993. Buzzard Billy's was the first restaurant to open in downtown Waco and helped kick off its revitalization. In 2008 when a great spot opened up, the Buzzard took a short flight and moved across the river to its new roost on the Brazos. The Buzzard deck is known as one of the best places to relax and enjoy gorgeous sunsets. The deck is also a big hit with kids of all ages who love feeding the fish, turtles and ducks who circle below waiting for their treats. Along with the unique and entertaining atmosphere, the Buzzard has been recognized year after year for its incredible dishes including the seafood, steaks, pastas, fantastic appetizers and outstanding desserts. For something wonderfully different try our Armadillo Eggs and the Fried Gator Fingers. Create some memories on the river. Come and see for yourself why Buzzard Billy's Swamp Shack is the favorite for miles around.
Very fun location and very! The food was good, but the hush puppies were unique and awesome! You could make a meal just out of hush puppies, and red beans and rice with sausage! The prices are a little high but pretty standard for seafood.
