I helped him set up a wifi extender and now wifi works everywhere. Nice little town and wildlife refuge nearby. Stores and restaurants are easy walking distance away. Cable TV hookup...

It’s a nice enough place to stop over but a bit expensive for what you get.

Rate quoted is monthly/30. Only RV park open this winter and the owner came out in the middle of the recent blizzard to snowblow a space for a travel thru truck towing a 5th wheel....NICE GUY! Very limited spaces available for overnites as most of the park has water lines shut down (not winterized). Winterized sites are near the spaces where some monthly guests are and may not be totally plowed-look for frost free water handles and power boxes behind the 'office' building, near the large propane tank. Sewer caps are currently buried under snow. Sites are not large, you will be close to your neighbors, and that is not the owners fault, that is the way RV parks were built in the 50, 60, 70's. This park is great for a stopover, or basecamp for exploring the area, not a destination to hang out at, and as such is priced reasonably. RV park is off Hwy 83, just south of the Valentine stock yards. A strong north wind brings mooing and PA announcements from the Mon & Thurs auctions. In summer, with wind blowing from the south probably not noticeable. Shower house/laundry/bathrooms building shut for winter-no comment. Water pressure is good, power (50 amp) steady and good per my auxillary power box. I don't know what age my TV is, though it is newer than 2008. Cable stations won't all register without an additional box, HDMI, etc.. Owner lent me a box, haven't been motivated to hook it up, as I can get a few of the major tv stations without it. IGA grocery store is very well stocked for a small town, and, they just last week installed a filtered water machine inside the store in the back- 39 cents/gallon for filtered or distilled water. Two places to load propane tanks in town, Farmers & Ranchers on main drag, or Reeses propane on Main Street. Filling onboard Class A tanks would want to go to Farmers & Ranchers (more room to turn around) because driving it in the alley to fill station behind Reeses would not work unless RV under 24ft and NOT towing. Nice, paved walking, bike riding trail runs between RV park and livestock yard...dogs LOVE going to say hello to the 'cow-puppies'. Trail also goes south, behind the IGA for miles, nice walk when pavement was dry. Wifi from the park is plenty fast, but space 25 is right across from the office, your results may vary. Verizon cell signal good, too. Diesel prices consistently higher than N. Platte, so fill up before you get here. Casey's has OUTSTANDING breakfast pizza you gotta try!

We had called and made a reservation for 5 rigs. They do not take a credit card or require a deposit. When we arrived they did not have our reservation however they did find spots for all of us. Most of us had our doors literally on the road. Hook up worked fine. Nice as walking distance to several restaurants and shopping (you literally are touching a parking lot). Would not stay here again.

Power water sewer for 30 bucks a nite, not bad.
Came to visit grave sites of family and the RV park was located across the street and walking distance from this location making it very convenient for me.
Elderly couple (very sweet people) do their best to keep after things. Facilities are cleaned daily, but the park itself needs more attention.

The place has really been cleaned up from our last stay in 2012, new owners here since 2017. Everyone give them a chance to keep improving as it is a mom & pop ownership without any hired help. In the eight years since we last visited there have been a lot of nice changes and a conversation with the newer owner shows he intends to keep making changes, however with only about 28 sites to work with it takes a while to produce the income needed for lasting changes. If you don't appreciate a place with nice hookups, there is a very noisy and dusty truck stop just down the street to save you a buck or two. There is a nice IGA across the street to restock all of your groceries. The 321-mile Cowboy Trail is located on the east property boundary & happens to be paved at that particular location. WIFI is very fast and reliable. Location is right off of busy US HWY-20, however, traffic does quiet down after dark, a price to pay for such easy in & easy out.

Check in went well, somewhat disorganized but it worked out. Several long term tenants but area was neat. We did ask for a 50 amp but got a 30 amp. The map they use was incorrect but we managed. 30 and 50 same price. FHU and everything worked. Did not use any of the campground facilities but they were available. Only negative is the campground is near a cattle yard and flies were pretty bad.

I needed a site with electric on the route I’m traveling for one night where I could stay connected and have water, sewer and electric to try to re-calibrate my airstream tank monitoring system.
This place fit the bill, even if the recalibration failed. Throw in the fact that there is a rails to trails trail immediately adjacent to the campground that you can walk to from your campsite.
There are a fair number of trees.
The couple that runs it is very friendly and accommodating. The sites are dirt. Weak WiFi but three bars with att.
I don’t think it’s anyone’s idea of a gorgeous campground, but it fit my needs perfectly and may fit yours.

Check in was a little disorganized but all went well. Place was clean but a little run down. A small RV place but can handle large rigs but not a lot of space between sites. Some long term renters live there. Right next to the Cowboy Trail so a great place to take a walk or bike ride. A couple of easy hikes to see waterfalls and near the Niobrara River.

I tend to eschew negative reviews of any parks in which we stay, but an exception needs to be made for Wacky West.
If you're thinking about staying here, don't.
The only thing this park has going for it is the Cowboy Trail which runs directly next to it. The park needs a lot of work the couple who run it are either not inclined, not financially able and/or simply can't physically.
The showers were locked and, when we inquired about how to access them, we discovered the owners were not available (out of town that day) and we had to, via instructions from the owner once we were able to talk to her, bother one of the permanent residents for a key. The showers need an upgrade. There was hot water though shower water also puddled on the entire floor making for difficulties when dressing afterwards.
If you want comic relief read reviews via Yelp. They're a bit sad, actually.
The park is also directly across from a livestock yard and, when the wind is favorable, you get the accompanying barnyard aromas. Flies are so prevalent sitting outside is not an option. My ceiling fans are now covered in dead flies. The dumpster has no lid which doesn't help with the flies.
While I understand the review of the person who stayed here in July 2022, they do no one any favors by being nice.
