The Chesapeake Inn

The Chesapeake Inn is a small family owned and operated hotel dedicated to giving its guests a truly special experience. Our rooms were all renovated this winter, and every one boasts its own chandelier and unique stylish design created from a mix of coastal and vintage furnishings. Every room features original art, as do our public spaces. We believe elegant beautiful rooms can be comfortable, and we want our guests to feel special in their surroundings – and yet relaxed enough to walk barefoot. Our motto is “your retreat by the River” and we take it very seriously indeed. You won’t find a schedule of fees here, because we don’t charge them. We do provide snacks, waters and coffee, a local paper and more in each room (plus every room has a full refrigerator and microwave). We love families of all shapes and sizes and have done our best to anticipate everything parents could need – even toys for rainy days or cranky moods! We not only allow pets; we welcome them with their very own beds and bowls. We have bikes, trikes, old fashioned surreys, and even kayaks for our guests to use to explore Urbanna and the waters around us. We don’t have an official check in time; instead we do our very best to have our guests able to settle into their rooms whenever they arrive in town. We want our guests to enjoy Urbanna, our wonderful little town surrounded by the water. We have a restaurant on site, and there are four other restaurants within a block of us as well as several others a short walk away. And between meals, Urbanna has adorable shops, relaxing parks and lots of fascinating history. Come take a break from daily life in “YOUR retreat by the water.”
