Seminole Canyon State Park Campground

Seminole Canyon is a great little park. It's pretty much out in the middle of nowhere. No verizon service at all but my starlink worked great. I stayed at one of the primitive spots and what a view I had! Super quiet and REALLY dark at night. I didnt get to do any star gazing as a front had just blew in and complete cloud cover (Have to go again when it's clear). The campgrounds are really nice and spread apart. There are two distinct areas, one area with hookups (water/electricity) and another area with no hook ups. All the spots were super clean and border patrol/NPS drove through the part every couple of hours so felt very safe. Lots of great hiking! If you are looking for a stop on the way to Big Bend coming from the east, this is a great place to do it, or stay for a while and enjoy the peace.

Seminole Canyon State Park contains almost 2,200 acres and features an early man site (roughly 12,000 years old). There are many archeological and historic sites to see at the Park including the Fate Bell Shelter (tours held Wednesday through Sunday). Outdoor activities include hiking, mountain biking, camping historical study and wildlife viewing.
