Ratings Summary
We stayed here in 2013, just after the new owners had taken over and had a WONDERFUL stay. The cabin was clean and the grounds were clearly well cared for and the owners were available for any questions.
The cabins are elevated from the lake and from what I could tell all of the cabins had a lake view. There is a path that leads you down to the rock lake shore and at night, there all are invited to come down to the shore for a campfire. The cabins seemed as though they were close together, but we slept with our windows open and were never really bothered by noise from other guests. (we may have been lucky and had nice neighbors) The hwy is not far from the cabins so you can hear road noise, but it never really bothered us.
The cabin was well stocked, and we had both a grill and a small kitchen. The location is ideal, allowing us to drive all the way to up to Judge CR Magney state park one day and down to Duluth the next. One thing that was really amazing was to sit on our little deck with a glass of wine enjoying nature especially all the humming birds!
We have been trying to get reservations to stay here again, and finally succeeded this year so we will be spending another week here is august. It seems the word has gotten out about how wonderful this little spot is!
My friend and her family used to own & run this place, very quaint, well kept and modern amenities. Enjoy a campfire on the rocky shore or stroll across the highway to Rustic Inn for food & shopping. Centrally located to many sites. My friend has said the new owners are wonderful! I have many great memories here, I hope you make some too!
