This was our first visit to JTNP. We have a 27ft trailer and it would fit in about 5 to 6 of all the sites in this campground. This would be a great campground for tents, tent trailers, or camper vans. No water. However, they do have trash and recyclable bins as well as vault toilets. Water and a dump station can be found behind the Cottonwood Springs visitor center.
It is a short walk from the campground to the Ryan Ranch ruins.

We stayed in early June when things were starting to heat up. Though Joshua Tree NP sits much higher than Joshua Tree the town so the park was about 10 degrees cooler. We loved the small size of Ryan. Cozy, but the sites are far enough from each other that you don't feel stacked in. The only sites we could fit our teardrop camper were 4,5,16,14,25,26,28,29 & 31.

We stayed just one night on October 4th, 2022. We’d have stayed a second night if there was an open site, but they were all booked at time of reservation. We travel with a 19’ trailer and our site was just large enough to fit the trailer with our truck tucked in crosswise. Fire pit/bbq and concrete picnic table provided at each site.
Beautiful campground, zero hookups, surrounded by giant rocks and the desert beyond. The night sky was stunning with the moon providing the light for silhouettes of mountains and Joshua Trees.
It was hot during the day as we drove in, but cooled to a wonderful temp in the high 50’s/low 60’s for sleeping with all our windows open. I could hear the distant yip of coyotes in the distance. The campground was full, but not a sound was heard = lovely.

Rock climbing, bouldering, hiking and biking trails abound in this National Park. 31 nice sites most fairly level and clean. A few sites might accommodate 25' rigs, with some very nice tent sites. 2 bicycle campsites as well, can't say I've seen that before. Saw a lot of van campers here too. Vault toilets clean and we'll stocked. No dogs on trails was our biggest disappointment due to big horn sheep in the area of which we didn't see any. At 4,300 feet it will get very chilly in winter with high winds. Water can be obtained at Park entrances. No Verizon service.
