We stopped here as it answered one of our clues for our family Amazing Race out west. We intially thought it wouldn't be worth the entrance fee but ended up really enjoying our time. We didn't agree with all the theories/dating on display but it was a very well done exhibit. The musuem was clean and the interactive portion kept my three kiddos (age 5, 7, 13) entertained for a solid hour. A nice little stop along our route!
Great place to stop for about one-two hours. I was able to meet the director. She took the time to explain and give me a tour. Great time.
Perfect stop to help break up our cross-country road trip. Kids are able to touch real fossils and cast fossils. Super friendly laid back atmosphere. My kids are 8 and 6, and they wanted to stop again on our trip home. Only thing is I wish the digging pit did not feature walnut shells as my son is very allergic to tree nuts. We avoided it entirely.
I really enjoyed this. Lots of exhibits that you can touch plus a specific area for the kids where they can excavate a fossil, do a rubbing with crayon, and make footprints in sand. We only had 20 minutes before they closed but I still think it was worth the price.
We have visited a lot of museums and quite a few dinosaur exhibits (9 year old love dinosaurs). This is a really awesome museum. Discounts for teachers and students. It is updated by students from the college and has a lot of cool exhibits (check out the augmented reality sandbox). The bronze skeletons are fantastic! There is also a kid's area with a 6x6 dig area. The gift shop has some small fossils for sale. Great way to spend an afternoon!
I'm not a huge museum person but this was really cool. Lots of interesting fossils accompanied with brief descriptions, some interactive pieces, and fun photo ops. It's not a very big museum so it makes for the perfect, quick yet fun leg stretching stop for roadtrippers with a more enticing destination ahead. Recommend for all!
Very cool and interactive! Not just for kids!!!
Very nice little museum. Several teeth and bones are local finds. Fun interaction for little kid
Loved this lil hidden gem!!! We took our 4 young children and they really loved the Mueseum. It was educational, interactive, and fun for the entire family! Well worth our detour!
This place was awesome. It even had a digging pit for the two little ones to spend some time in!
