“A lasting tribute to U.S. Marines”
The National Museum of the Marine Corps is a lasting tribute to U.S. Marines--past, present, and future. Situated on a 135-acre site adjacent to Marine Corps Base Quantico, Virginia, and under the command of Marine Corps University, the Museum's soaring design evokes the image of the flag-raisers of Iwo Jima and beckons visitors to this 120,000-square-foot structure. World-class interactive exhibits using the most innovative technology surround visitors with irreplaceable artifacts and immerse them in the sights and sounds of Marines in action.
Fantastic museum to visit. If they had this kind of museum while growing up and field tripping to while in school, I might have paid more attention to history. Excellent attention to details, kind staff, definitely worth a visit. Note: some of the displays were a bit "realistic", little boys will love it - little girls... not so sure.
This is a museum every Marine should visit. Real insight into the Marine mindset. Great memories, great history. Many vignettes showing Marine activities and history; from training to combat.
This is one the most interactive museums I've been to. I went into it not expecting much but I will definitely be back to visit.
You can see this museum as you drive by on I-95. Really beautifully lit up at night.
Extremely well-organized museum, staffed by marines, with interactive exhibits, great displays, an art gallery, and very informative content. A must-visit for anyone interested in war history.
The best museum I’ve ever been to. Really interactive and kid friendly.
Wonderful surprise just off I -95. The museum is well laid out and maintained. The exhibits are interesting and informative and there are interactive exhibits that will appeal to all ages. The walkways surrounding the museum are lined with dedicated bricks, honoring those who have served, many who paid the ultimate price. It is a humbling experience to read the history written on these bricks , the history of the military and our country. Well worth a visit.
