Confirmed by 4 users | Last reported on August 30, 2023We were impressed with the array of amenities offered at the Sleeping Ute RV Park. There is a nice lounge area off of the reservation desk, a pool and hot tub, bathhouse/showers, and coin laundry. There is a small fenced off-leash pet area and playground for the kids. Most sites are shaded by mature trees and the RV sites were mostly level, gravel pull-throughs with full hook-up/50amp. There is also a dump station.
You can walk across the parking lot to the Ute Mountain Casino, but Rog spent the day on the Phil’s World mountain bike trail system and then we hit up Moose & More in Cortez for gourmet ice cream and chocolates. Yum!!
We had 5 bars of Verizon 4G. The wifi didn’t work well at the far end of the campground where we were parked, however it was excellent near the office.

So we had to make a last minute change in our trip. Wife found this place and they had plenty of room. Showers were extremely clean. They have a few basic rv supplies in their lobby.
The casino had a refer on a trailer that ran all night long. Literally 100yds away. So that was annoying.
The staff was beyond friendly!
But over all the site offered everything we needed for the night.

We stayed here for 2 weeks and explored the area. The park is spacious and big-rig friendly - we had no problem maneuvering our 46' 5th wheel into the space. Office staff friendly and helpful. Super reasonable rate because we stayed 2 weeks; even better for a month.
Lots to see in the area - overlooks Sleeping Ute Mountain to the west, mesas to the east and southeast. Hovenweep Nat'l Monument is just an hour's drive across the border in Utah. Ancient Puebloan peoples' ruins there and at other places in this area.
Great motorcycle riding northeast of Cortez on CO Hwy 145, that runs up to Telluride.

They offer weekly and monthly rates as well although I didn’t get the specifics. I was able to get a full hookup site on a walk in basis. Nice place with security patrolling on a regular basis. The casino is very nice. Smoke and alcohol free. The campground is also alcohol free.

Paid the senior rate. Our site wasn’t level but we made it work. Clean showers that are free for campers. Has a small dog park. Basic necessity market.

The RV park is separate from the casino. It is very clean, the bath house was very nice. They have great WiFi, cable and a 1pm checkout.
We used passport America to get a discount. Beware sign on the door of office that Colorado has a strict mask law.

Rv park has mostly all pull thru shaded sites, easy in and out for our 55’ combined. Good hookups in the right locations. Casino has a fairly good dining option within easy walking distance. Only one night, but could enjoy a couple.

Well planned, laid out and managed, this is what an RV park should be. Sites are level, plenty of space and good cell signal. There is some highway noise but it is not disturbing. While I didn't hook up the cable TV they have the best array of channels I've ever seen at an RV park including sports channels, like Golf, MLB, NFL, etc. Didn't use the facilities. Will most certainly stop here again.

We stopped to avoid boon docking in sub freezing temps. Staff was super friendly. Sites were nice and spacious. Covid knocked out use of the indoor pool and sauna, but that’s a small price to pay to keep the members of the Ute tribe safe.
The casino is easy walking distance and though I don’t gamble, the restaurant had a really nice pork green chile stew with fry bread. I did see a guy hit a $27000 jackpot, though. Biggest I’ve ever witnessed!
We’ll visit again.
